Study of the Axial Compressive Behaviour of Cross-Shaped CFST and ST Columns with Inner Changes

In this study, novel cross-shaped concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) and (ST) columns were developed. CFST have a high load-carrying capacity excellent performance under seismic conditions, the construction process is fast. order to investigate axial load bearings failure mechanisms, six specimens of ST tested load. Three different forms employed in study; one was an ordinary (OC-CFST), while other two executed with significant inner changes; namely, stiffeners (SC-CFST), multi-cell (MC-CFST) filled concrete. The group has same OC-ST, SC-ST, MC-ST, but these test subjects without Through discussion mechanism, displacement strain correlations are determined. effects parameters on ultimate resistance, pattern, ductility index studied. 75–80% better than that columns; each column displayed cooperative behavior. finite element model (FEM) simulated, outcomes experiments used validate it. load–displacement relationships established using parametric analysis. Existing design standards calculate loading capacity. Finally, mathematical formulas improvised determine column.
